Concert at Teague Park
Sat. Oct 16 was a concert in the park event. Jessica Brown, Mandy Beeman and White Chocolate all performed at this charity event which helped the House of Hope raise $230.00. Raffle items were donated by Grace and Glory, Crafty Chick Designs, White Chocolate, Cuts Galore, Starbucks, Gifts of Grace, Louise Pertuit and Kim Hammons. The money will be used to purchase three new mattresses for the shelter.

Whataburger of East Texas held a classic car show Thursday Oct. 7th at the Gilmer Rd. location to benefit the House of Hope Women’s Shelter. There was a great turn out and we have received over $1,100 so far with more to come from the sponsors. Thanks to Douglas Edwards of Whataburger, KYKX and the East Texas Radio Group, Peter’s Chevrolet, Yamaha Sportscenter and ABC Auto for your financial support and all of your help to make this event a success.

Explicit Concepts held a car show at the Maude Cobb in honor of the House of Hope and blessed us with the proceeds of $1,200.00. We also sold crafts and had raffles items donated from Target, Dillards, Spraggins Auto Repair and Dr. Redfox dentistry and were able to raise another $308.00. Meanwhile over at the shelter, we had a car wash, garage sale and bake sale and made $750.00. We are so thankful for everyone who came by to support the cause and help us raise a total of $2,258.00. From July 2nd to August 13th, House of Hope has been forced to turn away 41 women until building repairs are completed. Texas Department of Transportation rejected our plan for bringing water lines to our shelter from where we originally planned. We have other options and will submit plan #2 soon. Please pray for favor. These delays could cost lives, as these women have to find another place of safety until we can re-open.
